Tuesday 10 May 10.30am – 4.00pm
Kristin Vincent: The Garden House is an ideal location for capturing beautiful images of flowers and views across the garden to the surrounding countryside. The day is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience.
We shall start the day with some drawing exercises, weather permitting we will undertake an exercise outside. However, if not ideal for working in the garden, we shall remain indoors and paint from images and garden flowers.
There will be an opportunity to work in tones from your images and in the afternoon, there will be a demonstration and the chance to apply texture to your paintings, producing some effective and unusual results.
Please bring your watercolour paints, a palette for mixing colours, watercolour brushes in a variety of sizes, a vessel for water and a 2B pencil. Watercolour paper or pads of 140/300gsm, rough, is recommended and you may want to bring along a sketch book too.
The day will start in the Fortescue Room at 10.30am although you may wish to arrive at 10.15 to set up. Tea/coffee is included and served at mid morning and mid afternoon breaks.
Tearoom facilities are available for lunch or bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds.
