Join our Team and help us grow!
As a charity we rely on the generosity and time given by our many volunteers. Whatever your age, skills or background we are always happy to discuss any expertise you may be able to offer.
Volunteers work across all sectors – garden, café, plant sales, visitor reception, events, maintenance team and within the office.
Ideally we are looking for 1 day per week (10am-4pm) but can be flexible around you and your other commitments.
As a volunteer, you will receive:
Full guidance and training
Free annual entry to the garden for you and a guest
Free entry to our partner gardens: Trebah & Coleton Fishacre
50% entry to our other partner gardens: Dartington Hall and gardens, Bishops Palace & Hestercombe house and gardens
Free sandwich/soup lunch when volunteering
20% discount in our cafe
20% discount in our plant sales

Benches
Throughout the garden there are benches that celebrate life and remember loved ones.
Small dedication plaques are available in return for a donation.
Each bench is hand-crafted from oak by a local carpenter, copying the style of two original benches that Lionel and Katharine Fortescue brought with them from Eton College back in 1945.

Trees
Planted in 2011, The Jubilee Arboretum is where tree sponsorship is most visible. The planting includes many unusual trees from recent introductions from the temperate zones of the world. Some trees are available for sponsorship: small dedication plaques can be placed by the chosen tree in return for a donation.

Business Sponsorship
As a charity we very much welcome sponsorship and partnering with local and national businesses.
Product support: If you have a product that may be appropriate for the garden, café or plant sales area (e.g greenhouses, summer houses, tables, chairs, garden equipment etc) we would be happy to discuss this with you. Our annual visitor numbers average between 25,000-35,000.
Service support: Please get in touch if you own or run a business that could support us with time or expertise..
We also hold many events during the year and are often looking for local businesses to partner with or who can offer sponsorship to help with aspects of marketing and fundraising.
